Experience:
Dowe was named Chief Communications and Corporate Responsibility Officer for Synovus in January 2018. She began her career at the company in 1995 as Associate Director of Corporate Communications, was promoted to Director in 2002, and later to Senior Director in 2013. Prior to joining Synovus, she spent time as a television reporter covering local and state government issues, and also led drug-free workplace and small and minority business development efforts for the Greater Columbus Chamber of Commerce.

Summary of Responsibilities:
In her current role, Dowe leads internal and external communications, executive and senior leadership messaging, creative services, community outreach, and team enhancements for Synovus. She ensures overall messaging, strategic decisions and actions, and corporate donations and other civic investments appropriately align with and promote the company’s brand, mitigate risk, and protect and strengthen the company’s reputation. She oversees the development of multi-channel, comprehensive best practice communication strategies, including those supporting all lines of business; company performance; shareholder communication; local, regional, and national PR/media outreach; and those that foster a healthy and inclusive work environment. She directs the company’s social media strategy, crisis communication preparedness and response, and team member engagement activities.
